Suzie
Director / Senior Occupational Therapist
-
I'm Suzie, Founder and Director of Be Kind Neuro Rehab and a Senior Occupational Therapist with over 8 years of experience in neurorehabilitation. I have a special interest in cognitive rehabilitation for people recovering from brain injury, with a focus on improving memory, attention, executive functioning, and independence through evidence-based, person-centred care. Throughout my career, I've worked with a diverse range of clients and have facilitated Queensland Health's first online memory rehabilitation program (MEMO Rehab), fatigue management programs, and functional rehabilitation groups. I founded Be Kind Neuro Rehab to build a team that shares my passion for delivering compassionate, personalised rehabilitation that empowers people to build confidence, maximise independence, and live meaning lives.

I am passionate about supporting participants to achieve their goals and live meaningful lives following brain injuries. I have a special interest in executive functioning and memory impairments, and upper limb rehabilitation. I enjoy working closely with families and other supports to create practical strategies that enhance independence and support recovery. Outside of work, you'll find me at the gym or spending time with my family at the beach.

Practice & Operations Manager / Allied Health Assistant

After spending the last 11 years working as a chef, I decided to follow my passion for healthcare and transition into the allied health sector. I'm currently completing my Certificate in Allied Health Assistance (Level 4) and hold a Certificate in Patient Transport. I also previously volunteered with St John Ambulance for several years. I love helping our participants build confidence and independence while working towards their rehabilitation goals. I also enjoy supporting our incredible Occupational Therapists and being part of a team that makes a positive difference in people's lives.
