Eligibility & Program Snapshot


Adult men living with an acquired or traumatic brain injury (ABI/TBI) who either reside in Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes, or live with family or informal supports.

This 8-week occupational therapy-led group supports adult men with ABI/TBI to re-engage in meaningful routines, learn life skills, improve memory and attention, and build social connections.

Each 3-hour session includes movement (e.g. walking, gardening), a functional life skills activity (e.g. cooking, budgeting), and structured group discussion or reflection.


Weekly Classes Overview


Week 01
Planting the Seeds

Explore your personal values, set goals, prepare the community garden plot, and make a healthy snack together.

Week 03
Building the Garden

Meet Simon the horticulturist, build your garden, select seedlings, and plan for next week’s volunteering.

Week 02
Planning for Growth

Learn to organise and plan materials for your garden. Create a shopping list and budget.

Week 04-08
Growing Skills & Connections

Cook meals using garden produce, participate in volunteering, and develop life skills through teamwork and routine.
